BEHIND THE BOOTS: THE Creative minds OF TEXCENTRIC™

The Minds of TexCentric™

TexCentric™ is guided by people who live inside the culture it explores — not observers passing through.

The project grew out of shared work, longtime curiosity, and a belief that Texas culture is best understood by showing up, listening, and staying a little longer than planned. What follows isn’t a spotlight. It’s context.

Creator/EP/host of TEXCENTRIC™ - Brent allen

Brent Allen is a Texas-born musician, storyteller, and cultural documentarian whose work lives at the intersection of music, memory, and place.

Raised in a family where music functioned as both language and legacy, Brent found his voice early — immersed in piano lessons, school band, and the storytelling traditions woven through country music. From an early age, music wasn’t simply something to perform; it was something to observe, absorb, and carry forward.

By the 1990s, that foundation grew into songwriting and live performance, shaped not by stages alone but by listening rooms — the intimate spaces where songs are tested, stories are shared, and musicians learn to listen as much as they play. Those rooms, and the working artists who filled them, became Brent’s real education.

Brent’s path has never followed a straight line. It has included moments of early recognition, long stretches away from the spotlight, and years spent working far outside the creative world. Through every chapter, music remained the constant — not always as a career, but as a way of understanding people, place, and time.

That distance ultimately sharpened his perspective. It taught him the value of patience, the importance of context, and the quiet power of showing up without needing to be the center of the room.

In recent years, Brent has returned fully to his creative roots, focusing less on performance for its own sake and more on honoring the culture that surrounds it. His work now centers on documenting the places, people, and traditions that quietly give Texas its character — often overlooked, rarely preserved, and deeply human.

Along the way, Brent’s work has occasionally surfaced in more formal settings — moments of recognition that reflect not a destination, but a byproduct of years spent listening, participating, and showing up. These acknowledgments sit quietly alongside the real work, serving as markers in time rather than the point of the story itself.

TexCentric™ is an extension of that instinct — a way to listen deeply, tell stories honestly, and let culture speak for itself. It isn’t about milestones or moments of recognition, but about presence: showing up, staying curious, and honoring the places and people that shape Texas from the inside out.

Creator/ep of TEXCENTRIC™ - Dr. Danger

Gregory E. Carpenter — known to most as Dr. Danger — has spent a lifetime living on the road, working with his hands, and earning stories the hard way.

At age ten, armed with little more than a pack of matches, an abandoned car, and a love of fire, Carpenter unknowingly stepped onto the path that would define his life. By his early twenties, he committed fully to the road — choosing a career that required grit, improvisation, and a willingness to take risks most people never consider.

Over more than two decades, Dr. Danger became a fixture at racetracks, speedways, and monster truck events across the country, performing live stunt shows built around spectacle, danger, and precision. His signature work includes car explosions, rollover crashes, fire stunts, and high-risk vehicle jumps — all performed live, often within feet of the audience.

His career has drawn national attention, with features on CBS Sunday Morning, MTV Nitro Circus, Fuel TV, Talk Soup, National Geographic, and America’s Got Talent. Cameras followed him not because of flash alone, but because of the discipline and craftsmanship required to survive that world.

But behind the spectacle is something quieter and more enduring.

Dr. Danger is a builder, a mechanic, a songwriter, a father, and a lifelong believer in showing up for people. Over time, raw risk gave way to stewardship — prioritizing safety, mentoring others, and passing on knowledge earned through experience rather than instruction manuals.

In 2012, he launched Team Danger, carrying the daredevil spirit forward with intention and care — less about pushing limits for attention, and more about honoring the craft and the community around it.

His presence in TexCentric™ brings a rare perspective: someone who has lived fully inside American road culture, understands risk firsthand, and values humility, resilience, and connection over ego.

How It Comes Together

Brent Allen and Dr. Danger reconnected in late 2021 while working as stagehands — two people from very different paths discovering a shared respect for craft, community, and the unseen work that makes experiences possible.

TexCentric™ grew from that connection.

Together, they approach Texas culture the same way they approach work: hands-on, unpretentious, and rooted in care. One listens through music and memory. The other through motion, labor, and lived experience. Both believe culture is something you earn the right to tell — by showing up, staying curious, and leaving places better than you found them.

TexCentric™ isn’t about personalities.

It’s about presence.

And this is where it begins.
